MG ES5 EV Set to Launch in Pakistan – Full Specs, Features & Global First Look!

Pakistan’s EV market is gaining serious momentum, and the latest contender to electrify the scene is none other than the MG ES5 — a futuristic, fully electric SUV that’s poised to replace the ZS EV in global markets. Fresh from its debut at the Shanghai Auto Show 2025, the ES5 is now confirmed to be on MG Pakistan’s radar for local launch.

This sleek crossover is more than just a new name — it represents MG’s next-gen electric design philosophy, blending sharp aesthetics, smart tech, and long-range performance.

🌍 International Debut – Shanghai Auto Show 2025

Auto influencer Suneel Manj broke the news firsthand from Shanghai, showcasing the ES5’s bold design, luxurious cabin, and performance credentials. This new EV is built to take on rivals like the Kia EV4 and Peugeot e-2008, with an edge in both looks and range.

📐 MG ES5 Dimensions – Bigger Than ZS EV

  • Length: 4,476 mm (+162 mm vs ZS EV)

  • Wheelbase: 2,730 mm (for more legroom & cabin comfort)

  • Width: 1,849 mm

  • Height: 1,621 mm

  • Weight: 1,685 – 1,720 kg

Built on the Modular Scalable Platform (MSP) shared with the MG4 hatchback, the ES5 benefits from a stretched wheelbase and better packaging.

🔋 Power, Battery & Performance

  • Motor: Single rear-mounted electric motor

  • Output: 168 hp (170 PS) & 250 Nm torque

  • Battery: LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) by SAIC-CATL

  • Battery Sizes: Up to 62.2 kWh

  • Range: Up to 525 km (CLTC cycle)

  • Drivetrain: Rear-wheel drive (AWD possibly coming soon)

Thanks to its ultra-slim battery design, the ES5 keeps weight down while delivering high efficiency. While it’s currently a single-motor setup, rumors suggest an AWD dual-motor variant may launch later.

🧊 Exterior – Futuristic Face of MG

The MG ES5 breaks away from traditional grille-heavy looks, going full-futuristic with:

  • Cyberster-inspired bumper design

  • Slim, split LED headlights

  • Full-width LED rear light bar

  • Aerodynamic, smooth profile

  • Flush door handles and aero wheels

Design Verdict: A striking, head-turning EV SUV that feels more premium than the ZS EV.

💎 Interior – A Digital Oasis

Inside, the MG ES5 is minimalistic yet futuristic:

  • 17.6-inch Floating Touchscreen (massive!)

  • 7.25-inch Digital Instrument Cluster

  • D-shaped Steering Wheel with Rear-Mounted Gear Selector

  • Wireless Charging Pad

  • Premium Soft-Touch Materials

  • Cup holders, USB-C ports, and smart storage

  • 4 to 6-speaker system, depending on trim

Overall, the cabin experience feels like it’s from a much more expensive segment.

🛡️ Safety & Tech (Expected)

While local specs are yet to be confirmed, internationally the MG ES5 includes:

  • ADAS: Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Emergency Braking

  • 360-degree Camera

  • Multiple Drive Modes

  • Connected Car Tech & Over-the-Air Updates

🤝 Rivals in Pakistan

If priced right, the MG ES5 will compete directly with:

  • Kia EV4 (upcoming)

  • Peugeot E-2008

  • BYD Dolphin & Atto 3

  • Changan Lumin Corn (in lower segment)

🇵🇰 MG ES5 in Pakistan – What to Expect?

MG Pakistan has yet to confirm a launch date, but based on insider buzz and the growing demand for EVs, the ES5 is expected to arrive in late 2025.

This EV could very well redefine the electric SUV experience in Pakistan, offering more style, range, and tech than its ZS EV predecessor.
